Gigi The Ghost is a real jokester, she loves playing practical jokes on her ghoulish friends.
Skill Level: Advanced Beginner
The pattern is written in U.S. crochet terms, complete with clear instructions and pictures to help you along the way. Gigi The Ghost is crocheted in the round/continuous spirals without joining the rounds. I suggest using a stitch marker or different color yarn to keep track of each round. Gigi The Ghost is crocheted in bulky weight velvet yarn and is approximately 2.5 inches tall. Be aware that size may vary depending on the yarn and hook size used. Gauge is not particularly important, just be consistent with the tension you are using. And most importantly, have fun!

Supplies
- Bulky (5) Weight Yarn
- Yarnspirations Bernat Velvet (~11 yards/10 grams)
- Worsted Weight Lion Brand Chainette for Bow (<1 yard)
- 7 (4.5mm) crochet hook for ghost
- E/4 (3.50mm) crochet hook for bow
- Two 9mm safety eyes (Not recommended for children under 3 years old)
- Polyfil or stuffing of your choice
- Yarn/Darning needle
- Black Embroidery floss
- Embroidery needle
- Scissors
- Locking Stitch Markers (optional)
- Pins for assembly (optional)

Abbreviations
- sc – single crochet
- st/sts – stitch(es)
- inc – increase (add 2 stitches into a stitch)
- sl st – slip stitch
- dc – double crochet
- ch – chain
- R1- round 1
- ( ) – repeat this group of stitches
Gigi The Ghost Pattern Example
(inc, sc) 6 times {18 sts}
(2 single crochets in one stitch, then single crochet in the next stitch) – repeat that sequence a total of 6 times for a total of 18 stitches
(3sc, sl st)
(3 single crochets in one stitch, then slip stitch in the next stitch)

Using color of choice bulky yarn and a 4.5mm crochet hook

Make a slipknot and chain 7

R1: inc in the second chain from hook, sc in next 4 sts, 4sc in the last chain

Working down the other side of the chain

sc in next 4 sts, inc {16 sts}

R2: sc in next 16 sts {16 sts}

R3: (inc, sc in next 3 sts) 4 times {20 sts}

R4-R7: sc in next 20 sts {20 sts}

R8: (inc, sc in next 4 sts) 4 times {24 sts}

R9: sc in next 24 sts {24 sts}

Place 9mm or 10mm safety eyes between R4 and R5 leaving 4 stitches open between the eyes.

Sew on a smile between R5 and R6.

R10: sc in next 2 sts, in the front loops only (3sc, sl st) 11 times {46 sts}

Add a bit of stuffing.
I only added a bit of stuffing to give a little dimension to the body.

R11: In the first front loop only place 3sc, in the second front loop only place a sl st, then chain 1.

With the safety eyes facing down, sl st in the back loops from R10, going across 10 or 11 stitches to close the piece.
It can be a bit harder to see with the velvet yarn so do your best.

Bottom of piece when closed with slip stitches.

Fasten off and weave in the end.
