Frog Jewelry Holder

Free Amigurumi Crochet Pattern

No-Sew Frog Jewelry Holder is your new amphibious assistant. This quirky little croaker is the perfect crochet companion for organizing jewelry, buttons, beads, stitch markers, and more.

Skill Level: Beginner

This no-sew crochet pattern is written in U.S. crochet terms, complete with clear instructions, pictures, and video tutorial to help you along the way. Frog Jewelry Holder is crocheted in the round/continuous spirals without joining the rounds. I suggest using a stitch marker or different color yarn to keep track of each round. Frog Jewelry Holder is crocheted in worsted weight yarn and is approximately 1.5 inches to top of cup. Be aware that size may vary depending on the yarn and hook size used. Gauge is not particularly important, just be consistent with the tension you are using. And most importantly, have fun!

(2 single crochets in one stitch, then single crochet in the next stitch) – repeat that sequence a total of 6 times for a total of 18 stitches

(dec, sc in next 2 sts) 6 times {18 sts}

    R8 we’re making the eyelids. Before you begin crocheting, mark the back loops only of the 7th and 11th stitch with stitch markers.

    Click here to watch this step.

  • The eyelids will be worked into the front loops of the two marked stitches. I suggest marking the first sc and last sc of each eye, as it’s helpful for 9, but is not necessary to do.

    We’ll be making the eyes in R8. Instructions for the eyes are in brackets.

    R8: sc in next 6 sts, [eyelid: in next flo, 3 sc in the same stitch], sc in next 3 sts, [eyelid: in next flo, 3 sc in the same stitch], sc in next 7 sts {18 sts} counting the marked back loops, not the flo stitches of the eyes.

    Click here to watch this step.

  • As we work R9, we will work into the back loops that we marked, not the stitches of the eyelid.
  • After you work into the back loops, reach your hook over into the next stitch - the one next to your marked eyelid stitch.

    R9: (sc in next 2 sts, inc) 2 times, sc into marked back loop st, sc, inc, sc, sc into marked back loop st, inc, (sc in next 2 sts, inc) 2 times {24 sts}

  • R10-11: sc in next 24 sts {24 sts}
  • R12: (inc, sc in next 3 sts) 6 times {30 sts}
  • R13-14: sc in next 30 sts {30 sts}

    Make sure R1 is at the top before you place the safety eyes.

    Pause here to place the eyes. With R1 at the top, place 10mm safety eyes between R9 and R10, right below the eyelids.

    Your frog will look angry... but only for a little while:) Click here to watch this step.

  • With black thread/yarn, embroider a smile over 2 stitches between R9/R10 and R10/11.
  • R15: (dec, sc in next 3 sts) 6 times {24 sts}
  • R16: sc blo in next 24 sts {24 sts}

  • Weave the tail to the top and pull the yarn through.
  • Begin to roll and tuck in until you reach the eyes.
  • This makes a sturdy base.
  • Hope your jewelry stays nice and cozy!
  • You can also use this frog to hold beads
  • Stitch markers and more…
