Using color purple

R1: 5 sc into a magic circle {5 sts}

Alternate way to begin: chain 2, sc 5 times in 2nd chain from hook {5 sts}

R2: (inc) 5 times {10 sts}

R3: (inc, sc in next st) 5 times {15 sts}

R4: sc in back loop only in next 15 sts {15 sts}

Back to crocheting through both loops.

R5-7: sc in next 15 sts {15 sts}

Instead of fastening off, grab Foot 1 and place it next to Foot 2.

Single crochet directly into Foot 1.

Start in the stitch next to the fastened off stitch.

Continue to go around until you reach the end of Foot 1.

Single crochet around Foot 2 until you reach the stitch marker.

Use the fastened off yarn from Foot 1 to sew the area between the legs shut.

If you followed the explanation above, you've completed Round 8.

R8: sc in next 30 sts around foot 1 & 2 {30 sts}

The first stitch of R9 may look small, do not skip it.

R9: sc in next 30 sts {30 sts}

Change to color pink

R10-16: sc in next 30 sts {30 sts}

Insert 9mm eyes between R13 and R14, leaving 5 stitches in between the eyes.

Embroider a smile:

Thread a long piece of embroidery floss into a sewing needle. Knot one end.

Thread the needle from back to front, between R13/R14 - pull the needle through until you hit the knot.

Move the needle one stitch down and one stitch over between R12/R13.

Make a knot on the inside of the head and go back up through the same stitch.

Move the needle one stitch up and one stitch over between R13/R14.

Secure the mouth with a knot.

Embroider eyelashes:

Place the needle through a stitch between R13/R14, near the corner of the eye.

Move one stitch over.

Go back through the stitch near the corner of the eye, move up and over one stitch.

Make a knot on the inside of the head.

Smile and eyelashes complete.

Secure the safety eyes. Begin to stuff the feet and body and continue as you crochet.

R17: (dec, sc in next 4 sts) 5 times {25 sts}

R18: (dec, sc in next 3 sts) 5 times {20 sts}

R19: (dec, sc in next 2 sts) 5 times {15 sts}

R20: (dec, sc in next st) 5 times {10 sts}

R21: (dec) 5 times {5 sts}

R22: sc in next 5 sts {5 sts}

R23: (inc) 5 times {10 sts}

Change to color purple

R24: (inc, sc in next st) 5 times {15 sts}

Change to color pink

R25: (sc 3x in next st, sl st in next st) 7 times, sc 3x in next st {31 sts}

Make a seamless join on an open piece:

Cut the working yarn, leaving a tail. Pull the yarn through the last stitch (do not fasten off).

Thread the remaining yarn into a yarn needle and insert the needle under both loops of the stitch to the left of the last stitch - from outside to inside.

Then move one stitch to the right, (the last crocheted stitch) and insert your needle through the middle of the V -- from outside to inside.

Faux stitch created. Weave in all ends.

Set aside until assembly.
