Parker The Polar Bear

Parker The Polar Bear loves playing in the snow. His favorite thing to do is to build a snowman and make as many snow angels as possible.

Skill Level: Easy

The pattern is written in U.S. crochet terms, complete with clear instructions and  pictures to help you along the way. Parker The Polar Bear is crocheted in continuous spirals without joining the rounds. I suggest using a stitch marker or different color yarn to keep track of each round. Parker The Polar Bear is crocheted in Bulky 5 weight yarn and is approximately 5.5 inches tall. Be aware that size may vary depending on the yarn and hook size used. Gauge is not particularly important, just be consistent with the tension you are using. And most importantly, have fun!

Parker The Polar Bear Full Pattern

  • Using Color White
  • R1: 3 sc into a magic circle (3 sts)

    Don't pull the magic circle tight. The safety nose will go in the middle of the circle.

  • Alternate way to begin: chain 2, sc 3 times in 2nd chain from hook {3 sts}
  • R2: (inc) 3 times {6 sts}
  • R3: (inc, sc in next st) 3 times {9 sts}
  • R4: (inc, sc in next 2 sts) 3 times {12 sts}
  • Do a seamless join on an open piece:
  • Cut the working yarn, leaving a small tail. Pull the yarn through the last stitch.
  • Thread the remaining yarn through a yarn needle. In the stitch to the left of the last stitch, go under both loops from outside to inside.
  • Move back to your last stitch (stitch to the right) and insert your needle through the middle of the V from outside to inside.
  • Seamless join done.
  • Insert an 18mm safety nose in the center of the muzzle and secure the nose.
  • Set aside until assembly.
