Poppy The Panda loves to spend her days munching on bamboo, taking lots of naps, and climbing her favorite tree.

The pattern is written in U.S. crochet terms, complete with clear instructions and pictures to help you along the way. Poppy The Panda is crocheted in continuous spirals without joining the rounds. I suggest using a stitch marker or different color yarn to keep track of each round. Poppy The Panda crocheted in worsted weight yarn is approximately 5.5 inches tall. Be aware that the final size may vary depending on the yarn and hook size used. Gauge is not particularly important, just be consistent with the tension you are using. And, most importantly, have fun!

Poppy The Panda Pattern Essentials
Supplies
- Worsted Weight Yarn
- WeCrochet Comfy Worsted in Black or Whisker (grey) (~22 yards used)
- WeCrochet Comfy Worsted in White (~38 yards used)
- Lion Brand BonBons used for flowers (small amount of DK or sport weight)
- E/4 (3.50mm) crochet hook
- C (2.75mm) crochet hook (flowers)
- Two 12mm plastic safety eyes (Not recommended for children under 3 years old)
- 18mm plastic safety nose (Not recommended for children under 3 years old)
- Polyfil or stuffing of your choice
- Yarn/Darning needle
- Scissors
- Locking Stitch Markers (optional)

Abbreviations
- sc – single crochet
- st/sts – stitch(es)
- inc – increase (add 2 stitches into a stitch)
- dec – decrease (join 2 stitches into 1)
- hdc – half double crochet
- sl st – slip stitch
- ch -chain
- R1- round 1
- ( ) – repeat this group of stitches
Poppy The Panda Pattern Example
If a line is written with a single “inc”, “dec” or “sc” with nothing after it – make one increase, decrease, or single crochet into one stitch only.
6 sc into a Magic Circle {6 sts}
R1 starts with 6 single crochet in a magic circle
Alternate way to begin: chain 2, sc 6 times in 2nd chain from hook {6 sts}
(inc, sc) 6 times {18 sts}
(2 single crochets into a stitch, then single crochet in next stitch) – repeat that sequence a total of 6 times for a total of 18 stitches
(dec, sc in next 2 sts) 6 times {18 sts}
(join 2 single crochets into 1, and then single crochet in next 2 stitches) – repeat that sequence a total of 6 times for a total of 18 stitches

Don't pull the middle of the magic circle tight, the safety eye will be placed into the hole.

R1: 6 sc into a magic circle {6 sts}
Alternate way to begin throughout the pattern: chain 2, sc 6 times in 2nd chain from hook {6 sts}

R2: 3hdc, sc in next 5 sts {8 sts}

Leave a small tail and make a seamless join.

Weave all yarn tails into the piece.

Place a 12mm safety eye into the middle of each eye. DO NOT secure the back of the eye, set them aside.
