R1: sc in the 2nd chain from hook, sc in next 10 ch sts
Working down the other side of the chain
sc in next 11 ch sts {22 sts}
We will be working in continuous rounds. Place a stitch marker in the last stitch of the round and continue to crochet into the next stitch to start R2.
Make sure R1 measures at least 3.25 inches long (8.25cm). *If R1 is smaller than 3.25 inches, go up a hook size and start R1 over. *If R1 is bigger than 3.25 inches, stay the same hook size and move on to R2.
Find the middle stitch between R7 and R8 and place an 18mm safety nose.
Leave two stitches open next to the nose and place a 14mm safety eye - one on each side between R7 and R8. Secure safety eyes and nose.
Place ears between R10 and R11, positioning one ear at each corner. Thread one ear tail into a yarn needle and insert it through a stitch. Move over a stitch, and thread the other ear tail through. Make a double knot on the inside of the head, weave in the tails, and cut off the excess yarn. Repeat with the other ear.
