- Worsted Weight Yarn
- Knit Picks Comfy Worsted in Carrot (Small) (~22 yards used)
- Knit Picks Comfy Worsted in Carrot (Medium) (~55 yards used)
- Knit Picks Comfy Worsted in Carrot (Large) (~100 yards used)
- Knit Picks Comfy Worsted in Doe – small amount needed
- Lion Brand Wool-Ease Thick and Quick – Chunky 6 Weight (one skein)
- D (3.25mm) crochet hook (small pumpkin)
- G (4.0mm) crochet hook ( medium pumpkin)
- J (6.00mm) crochet hook (large pumpkin)
- Polyfil or stuffing of your choice
- Twine (alternative for stem)
- Yarn/Darning needle
- Scissors
- Locking Stitch Markers (optional)

Faux Knit Pumpkins Pattern Example
Note
-Gauge is not important, just keep tension even.
-Chain stitches in the beginning of the row do not count as the first stitch.
-Make sure to crochet the whole pumpkin in half double crochets. This stitch is important to achieve the back bar of the stitch.
-Stems are crocheted in continuous spirals without joining the rounds. You will start Round 2 in the next stitch. I suggest using a stitch marker to keep track of your rounds.
-Stems can be made in twine or yarn. (Both look pretty)

How to Crochet in the Back Bar Only

Begin by making a foundation chain in half double crochets.

Turn, Chain 2.
Chain 2 is not considered a stitch. Crochet through the first back bar.

Identify the top of the stitch that is shaped like a V. Directly below the V, you will see a horizontal back bar.

Yarn over and insert the hook under the bar.

Complete your half double crochet.

Continue that along the row.

Crocheting through the back bar gives a beautiful faux knit look.
