Kitty Jewelry Holder

Free Amigurumi Crochet Pattern

No-Sew Kitty Jewelry Holder is an adorable feline friend that will keep your rings and earrings in check. Soft, handmade, and full of charm, it’s the purr-fect blend of cozy craft and clever storage.

Skill Level: Advanced Beginner

This no-sew crochet pattern is written in U.S. crochet terms, complete with clear instructions, pictures, and video tutorial to help you along the way. Kitty Jewelry Holder is crocheted in the round/continuous spirals without joining the rounds. I suggest using a stitch marker or different color yarn to keep track of each round. Kitty Jewelry Holder is crocheted in worsted weight yarn and is approximately 2 inches tall including top of the ear (1.5 inches to top of cup). Be aware that size may vary depending on the yarn and hook size used. Gauge is not particularly important, just be consistent with the tension you are using. And most importantly, have fun!

    Right and left hand video tutorials available for this pattern in the pattern example above. Watch the step-by-step video

  • Make a slipknot and chain 7
  • R1: sc in the 2nd chain from hook, sc in next 5 ch sts
  • Working down the other side of the chain
  • sc in next 6 ch sts {12 sts}

    We’re working in continuous rounds. Place a stitch marker and continue to crochet into next stitch.

  • R2: (inc, sc) 6 times {18 sts}
  • R3: (inc, sc in next 2 sts) 6 times {24 sts}
  • R4: (inc, sc in next 3 sts) 6 times {30 sts}
  • R5: (dec, sc in next 3 sts) 6 times {24 sts}
  • R6: (dec, sc in next 2 sts 6 times {18 sts}

    Watch the step-by-step video tutorial for the marking ear stitches.

  • R7 we’re making the ears. Using stitch markers, mark the back loops only of the 4th and 8th stitch before you begin crocheting.

    The ears will be worked into the front loops of the two marked stitches. I suggest marking the first sc and last sc of each ear as it’s helpful for 8. Watch the step-by-step video tutorial for the ears.

  • R7: sc in next 3 sts [ear: in next flo sc, hdc, dc, then ch 1, hdc, sc all in same st] sc in next 3 sts [ear: in next flo sc, hdc, dc, then ch 1, hdc, sc all in same st] sc in next 10 sts {18 sts counting the marked back loops, not the ear stitches}
  • As we work R8, we will work into the back loops that we marked, not the stitches of the ear.

    Watch the step-by-step video tutorial for R8.

  • After you work into the back loops, reach your hook over into the next stitch - the one next to your marked ear stitch.
  • R8: sc in next 3 sts, sc into marked back loop st, sc in next 3 sts, sc into marked back loop st, sc in next 10 sts {18 sts}
  • R9: (inc, sc in next 2 sts) 6 times {24 sts}

    Optional: Mark R11 for eye placement later.

  • R10-11: sc in next 24 sts {24 sts}
  • R12: (inc, sc in next 3 sts) 6 times {30 sts}
  • R13-14: sc in next 30 sts {30 sts}
  • Place 10mm safety eyes between R11 and R12, leaving 3 sts open between the eyes.
  • With pink or black thread/yarn, create a nose by embroidering a line in between the eyes between R14 and 15 for a nose.
  • Feel free to place a line going vertical below the nose.
  • Embroider three lines on each cheek to make whiskers.
  • R16: sc blo in next 24 sts {24 sts}
  • R17: (dec, sc in next 2 sts) 6 times {18 sts}
  • Fasten off and leave a long piece of yarn to sew the body shut.
  • Weave the tail to the top and pull the yarn through.

    Watch the step-by-step video tutorial for forming the cup.

  • Roll and tuck in until you reach the ears.
  • This makes a sturdy base.
  • Add jewelry to your kitty holder!
  • Add beads for crafting!
  • Add stitch markers so you always know where they are!
