Using Color Black
Follow R1-R3 in color black if making an elf belt.

Note: Chain 1 does not count as a stitch. Place your hdc in the first stitch of the row.

Make a slipknot. Chain 35 or a chain that measures 7 inches long.

R1: hdc in the second chain from the hook, hdc in next 33 sts, chain 1, turn {34 sts}

R2-4: hdc in next 34 sts, chain 1, turn {34 sts}

Fasten off and leave a long tail. Set aside until assembly.
