Olive The Owl
Olive The Owl is a nature loving girl. She loves long restorative naps and watching butterflies flutter around her favorite tree.
Skill Level: Advanced Beginner
The pattern is written in U.S. crochet terms, complete with clear instructions and pictures to help you along the way. Olive The Owl is crocheted in the round/continuous spirals without joining the rounds. I suggest using a stitch marker or different color yarn to keep track of each round. Olive The Owl is crocheted in worsted weight yarn and is approximately 2.5 inches tall. Be aware that size may vary depending on the yarn and hook size used. Gauge is not particularly important, just be consistent with the tension you are using. And most importantly, have fun!

- Worsted Weight Yarn
- Lion Brand Wool Ease in Icicle (blue) (~32 yards/14 grams)
- Lion Brand Wool Ease in Fisherman (cream) (~1 yards/<1 grams)
- Lion Brand Wool Ease in Linen (dark cream) (15 inch piece)
- E/4 (3.50mm) crochet hook
- Two 15mm plastic safety eyes (Not recommended for children under 3 years old)
- Polyfil or stuffing of your choice
- Yarn/Darning needle
- Scissors
- Locking Stitch Markers (optional)
- Pins for assembly (optional)
- Fabric glue (optional)

Abbreviations
- sc – single crochet
- st/sts – stitch(es)
- inc – increase (add 2 stitches into a stitch)
- dec – decrease (join 2 stitches into 1)
- sl st – slip stitch
- ch – chain
- R1- round 1
- ( ) – repeat this group of stitches
Olive The Owl Pattern Example
6 sc into a Magic Circle {6 sts}
R1 starts with 6 single crochet in a magic circle
Alternate way to begin: chain 2, sc 6 times in 2nd chain from hook {6 sts}
(sl st, 3sc) 2 times end with a sl st {9 sts}
(slip stitch in one stitch, then place three single crochets into the next stitch) – repeat that sequence a total of 2 times, then end with a slip stitch for a total of 9 stitches.
(sc, 3sc) 2 times {8 sts}
(single crochet in one stitch, then three single crochet into the next stitch) – repeat that sequence a total of 2 times for a total of 8 stitches
(inc, sc) 6 times {18 sts}
(2 single crochets into a stitch, then single crochet in the next stitch) – repeat that sequence a total of 6 times for a total of 18 stitches
(dec, sc in next 2 sts) 6 times {18 sts}
(join 2 single crochets into 1, and then single crochet in next 2 stitches) – repeat that sequence a total of 6 times for a total of 18 stitches

R1: 6 sc into a magic circle {6 sts}
Leave your magic circle open a bit to leave room for your 15mm safety eye.

R2: (inc) 6 times {12 sts}

For R3, you'll only be working into 5 of the 12 stitches.

R3: (sl st, 3sc) 2 times, end with a sl st {9 sts}

Leave a long tail and make a seamless join. Weave in all bits of yarn.

Place a 15 mm safety eye at R1, do NOT secure the back.
